Volo Motorsports, LLC has been operating since 2004 and Team Volo started making its mark in SCCA D-sports racing that same year.  In his 2004 Stohr, Volo’s rookie lead driver Rod Morley took home four checkered flags and set new track records at Second Creek Raceway, Thunderhill Raceway Park and Buttonwillow Raceway Park along the way.

In his first full season of racing in 2005, Morley broke his own track records at Thunderhill and Buttonwillow, adding new records at Laguna Seca, Willow Springs and Road America.  After winning the DSR class of SCCA’s Northern Pacific Division, he claimed a second place victory in the 2005 SCCA National Championship Runoffs--a distinctive accomplishment in his first full season of racing.

Team Volo transitioned fully into production car road course racing in 2009. In June 2009, Rod Morley, Korby Van Valkenburg, & Zach Matthews began building a 2003 Evo 8 into a fully race prepared Time Attack contender. After many late nights in the garage and a complete overhaul on the Evo 8, Team Volo ran their first Redline Time Attack event at Buttonwillow Raceway in March 2010. The Lancer Evo 8, driven by Rod Morley, ran an impressive 1:54:77 early Sunday morning at the event. The team is excited to see what the Evo 8 can do in the 2010 season as they continue to dial in and perfect the new setup!
